WDH Awarded Grant from The Million Dollar Round Table Foundation

The Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) Foundation has awarded a $25,000 grant to Wentworth-Douglass Hospital’s Seacoast Cancer Center in support of its LIFE Program, an 8-week course designed to teach participants strategies to reduce their risk of cancer or cancer recurrence.

Wentworth-Douglass Hospital’s grant was endorsed by MDRT member Thomas F. Levasseur, CLU, MS Ed., of The Beacon Retirement Group in Dover. Levasseur also sits on the Wentworth-Douglass Foundation Board of Directors and is a member of the Seacoast Cancer 5K planning committee.

“Opportunities like the LIFE Program are what set the Seacoast Cancer Center apart from other hospitals and, I believe, are fundamentally what makes the Seacoast Cancer Center the most comprehensive cancer center in the region,” he says. “I have seen first-hand how the work of the Seacoast Cancer Center directly reflects the vision and commitment of the MDRT Foundation as is evidenced by its longstanding dedication to improving the lives of cancer patients and their families.”

The LIFE Program is offered twice per year for individuals who are interested in learning practical solutions for coping with change, improving nutrition and fitness, reducing stress, and implementing safe and easy ideas for “greening” the home environment. Courses are structured around the five pillars of lifestyle: diet, fitness, mindset, environment, and change.

To learn more about the LIFE Program, call Judith Geaghan, LICSW, at (603) 740-2226.

Through its global grants programs, the MDRT Foundation is committed to building stronger families and communities around the globe. This year, the MDRT Foundation will award over $1 million in member-endorsed grants to more than 200 charitable organizations worldwide.
