Thanks to the investment of donors to the Wentworth-Douglass Foundation, last year the Seacoast Cancer Center developed the LIFE (Lifestyle Interventions for Everyone) Program. This eight-week wellness course is geared to cancer survivors, their caregivers and anyone who wants to learn more about reducing their cancer risks. LIFE’s faculty members present on such topics as how to green your home and improve nutrition and fitness, and they support participants in making progress toward their goals. At each class a light meal is served and the students focus on one of the five pillars of good health: Nutrition, Environment, Fitness, Mindset and Change.
This program has received wonderful reviews from patients, one student saying “I am so happy I took this course! I have already told several friends to attend next time.” With such high reviews, it is clear that the LIFE program is empowering patients with the tools to make the best lifestyle choices possible.
The fall session has already begun, however if you would like to learn more please contact Judith Geaghan, LICSW at 603.740.2226.
