Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Welcomes Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist

Suzanne Stevens-web.jpgSuzanne L. Stevens, PharmD, joins Wentworth-Douglass Hospital’s Seacoast Cancer Center as a board certified oncology pharmacist.

Prior to joining Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, Stevens was a clinical pharmacist at the Massachusetts General Hospital/North Shore Cancer Center. She previously was an oncology pharmacist at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

As a board certified oncology pharmacist, Stevens will work alongside physicians to provide medication therapy management and individualized care for patients with cancer. She is specially trained to monitor for potential adverse drug reactions and interactions and respond to adverse physical and emotional issues that may arise during treatment, including pain, nausea and hair loss.

“Board certified oncology pharmacists understand the complexities of today’s personalized cancer treatments and are able to offer the highest level of medication management and therapeutic support to enhance the care and quality of life for each patient,” says David Merriman, Director of Pharmacy Services at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. “The Seacoast Cancer Center is pleased to welcome Suzanne and offer our patients this expert level of care.”

Stevens earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston.
