Employee Spotlight: Diana Bisson

"Employee Spotlight" is a bi-weekly feature for staff and the community to get the know the individuals that make Wentworth-Douglass Hospital a comfortable place for patients, and a great place to work for employees.

  1. What is your official job title?

Pharmacy Inventory CPhT

 

  1. How long have you worked here?

Three years, 5 months

 

  1. Please describe your typical day and responsibilities.

Busy from the time I arrive. I receive the daily order, attend meetings, respond to Emails, place the daily order, rinse and repeat.

 

  1. Why did you choose to come to WDH?

First, they save my mother’s life in 1989 from a heart condition.

Second, they joined Mass General who saved my sisters life from a double aneurysm in 1998.

It was a no brainer.

 

  1. What do you enjoy most about working here?

Being trusted with endless responsibilities and the people are pretty great too.

 

  1. How would you describe your work experience at WDH?

All-encompassing of laughter, seriousness, joy, stress and ever evolving.

 

  1. What would you say to someone who is considering applying to work here?

It is a fantastic place to work, but you will work and have fun; this is not a laid-back kind of focus. You need to be dedicated and love what you do.

 

  1. What is your favorite part of your job?

Not being micromanaged, allowed to use my education and skills and being part of several committees.

  1. What did you want to be when you grew up?

A chef.

 

  1. If you could have a meal with three famous people (living or dead), who would they be?

The father, the son and Holy Spirit.

 

  1. What qualities do you admire most in a person?

Honesty, humor, and hard work.

 

  1. What was your first job?

Dover House Healthcare, Dietary Aide besides babysitting.

 

  1. What is your proudest moment?

Moments – Birth of my Children, grandchildren and being elected to lead my tribe.

 

  1. What is one thing you wish others knew about you?

Living in two worlds and being Native American is not optional.
