Surgery Appointment Time
The time of your procedure is determined by your surgeon. The time of your admission will be given to you at the time of your pre-operative screening.
Between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m., on the day before your day of surgery, our Pre-Admission Services staff will call you to confirm the time of your admission.
The times of surgical cases are sometimes changed due to emergency scheduling needs. If this should occur, you will receive another call explaining this change.
Your admission time is not the time of your surgery.
You will need to arrive at our Same Day Surgery unit one to two hours prior to your actual surgery depending on your type of surgery. This admission time is important in order to allow enough time for the nursing care needed to safely prepare you for your procedure.
While we make every effort to be on time for your surgery, we cannot always prevent delays. Additional wait time may be caused by unforeseen schedule changes or emergency situations. We will let you know if there is a delay and help you to be as comfortable as possible while you wait.
