Preparing for Surgery

Pre-Admission Testing Visit

If you are scheduled for a pre-admission testing visit you will:

• Register for your surgery visit, if you have not pre-registered
• Be offered information regarding Advanced Directives and Patient Rights
• Meet with the Nurse Practitioner or Anesthesiologist who will review your health history, answer your questions about anesthesia and obtain your consent for the anesthesia
• Meet with a nurse who will give you instructions to prepare for surgery
• Have blood work, x-rays and/or an EKG as ordered by your surgeon or anesthesiologist
