SOCIAL WORK SERVICES

The Social Work Services staff, including a Chaplain, provide emotional and spiritual support, information and assistance to patients and their families in coping with the challenges posed by birth, illness, injuries, aging and death.

Members of the department collaborate with patients, their families and their teams to make arrangements and referrals to outside agencies or skilled care facilities after discharge from the hospital.

Clinical social workers provide assistance and education with healthcare and wellness issues and counseling to patients, families and community members who are seeking help in areas such as adoption, guardianship, indigent care and abuse cases.

The department has information available on topics such as advance directives (Durable Power of Attorney for healthcare and Living Will), organ donations and Seacoast area support groups. Please call (603) 740-2826 to request information or an appointment.
