The Wilson family’s gift of $75,000 will honor Wentworth-Douglass Hospital’s first pediatrician, Robert Wilson, MD, by naming the new Women & Children’s Center Family Playroom in his memory. Dr. Wilson established Dover Pediatrics in the mid 1940s, left briefly to serve as a Navy reservist in the Korean War and returned to care for children until his retirement in 1986. He passed away in 2009.
Seacoast Orthopedics & Sports Medicine pledged $25,000 to name the Joint Replacement Center’s Joint Camp Exercise Room to be located on the 3rd level of the new building. Wentworth-Douglass Hospital & Health Foundation also raised over $34,000 at their November Night 2010 event to support the new special care nursery in the Women & Children’s Center and the WDH Auxiliary recently donated $25,000 to the building project.
