2010 Laconia Savings Bank funds Pediatric Water Works Program
Date: February 1, 2010
Laconia Savings Bank donated $5,000 to support pediatric programming offered at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. Their support is for Water Works, a program where children can learn to swim and feel comfortable around the water. Children with either physical or emotional challenges enjoy the buoyancy of the water and the accomplishment they feel at the end of each class. Participants will improve the strength of their core, shoulders, lower back and trunk.
Children with illnesses such as Autism, Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, heart disease, neurological damage and seizure disorders have participated in this program. The goals of this program are improved motor skill development, water safety and swimming skills.
