2012 WDH & Health Foundation awards 20 scholarships
The Wentworth-Douglass Hospital & Health Foundation Office awarded $38,126.31 to 20 nursing scholarship to employees of Wentworth-Douglass Health System pursuing new careers in nursing or advanced nursing degrees. The scholarships are funded from the Edna Dube & Wentworth Hospital Nursing Scholarship Endowment, the Helen Garland Grant Nursing Scholarship Endowment and Foundation unrestricted funds.
VP of Patient Care Services Sheila Woolley, RN, expressed her gratitude to the Foundation for their strong commitment to quality nursing at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. “I am so impressed with the enthusiasm and dedication this team of recipients brings to the role of nursing at Wentworth-Douglass,” Woolley said. “The Foundation’s scholarships make it possible for employees interested in this valued field to extend their education by removing some of the barriers of high tuition and other expenses. Nurses are continuingly learning new skills and better ways to care for patients and we need to do everything we can do to support them.”
