2012 - Hospital Employee Roger Dionne donates $25,000
For over 25 years Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Floor Care Specialist Roger Dionne has worked in Environmental Services taking care of conference rooms and auditoriums. His pride in the Hospital and the Hospital’s support of the community were the reasons he cited for his generous donation of $25,000 in 2011 to name one of the conference rooms in the new building.
“I’ve worked quite a few years taking care of these rooms,” Dionne said. “I know the money is going to a good cause. I know the Hospital gives back to everybody in the community. It’s just something I wanted to do.”
Roger’s eagerness to support others won him the Hospital’s prestigious President’s Award for exhibiting strong customer relations skills and giving back to his community. He’s a tireless member of the Hospital’s Picnic Committee and was one of the first members of the Employee Annual Fund Committee.
Roger also chose Wentworth-Douglass Hospital as a beneficiary of his will. Roger said, “Wentworth-Douglass Hospital has been good to me and I would like to do the same for the Hospital. Since being on the Employee Annual Fund Committee I have seen what the Foundation does to help the community and the low-income families that need help. I like being involved with a committee that helps people and makes a difference in the Hospital’s primary service area.”
Roger wanted to make sure that he named the people and organizations that were important to him in his will and listed what each was to receive. He was honored at the annual 1906 Heritage Society Luncheon for individuals that have named the Foundation in their will or estate plan.
