Ocean Bank recently donated $2,500 to the Dental Center to support continued access to affordable oral healthcare for low-income, uninsured residents. Over the past 5 years, Ocean Bank has contributed to several initiatives at WDH.
Jay Afrow, DMD, Dental Center Director recently informed the Foundation Board of Directors more patients are coming to the Dental Center because of job loss or insurance loss. The Center has seen 4,474 new patients in 22,227 visits providing over $3.7 million worth of dental treatment since opening in June 2005.
Patients have expressed their gratitude to the dental staff, saying they are able to eat and smile again and are no longer in pain. The Dental Center has made a tremendous impact on the health and well-being of our community.
We are grateful for organizations like Ocean Bank for helping us continue to provide affordable oral healthcare. Many funding requests have been submitted this year to various businesses and Foundations asking for support for the projects and programs taking place at WDH.
We continue to look forward to additional support for the Hospital from these organizations as well as our community partners.
