2010 The Heart Disease Prevention & Lipid Center now open
The Heart Disease Prevention & Lipid Center specializes in the treatment of patients with complex, abnormal blood lipids (fatty substances in the blood) and uncontrolled high cholesterol.
The clinical services of the center include a board-certified Clinical Lipidologist, nutrition referral and assessment, fitness specialist referral and assessment and advanced laboratory and radiology services.
Lipid specialists work as a multi-disciplinary branch of medicine focusing on lipid metabolism and their associated disorders. A team of medical doctors, nurses, dietitians and fitness specialists work collaboratively to treat the entire spectrum of lipid disorders.
Anyone who would like to understand and explore their own risks of having a possible heart attack or stroke in the future and learn about the methods of prevention can benefit from a visit to the Center. The Center can also help individuals who are already diagnosed with heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol and would like to improve the odds of not having a heart attack or stroke. Also, anyone who has a family history of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, hypertension and cholesterolor anyone who has been unable to lower LDL cholesterol to a normal level after six months to one year of treatment would benefit from visiting the Center.
Homayoun L. Daneschvar, MD, FACP, is the Medical Director of the Heart Disease Prevention & Lipid Center. Dr. Daneschvar is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Clinical Lipidology and Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He received his Medical Degree from the University of Vienna, Austria; completed a residency in Heart and Lung Surgery at the University Hospital of Vienna, a residency in Family Practice at Donauspital Vienna, Austria and a residency in Internal Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Health System, Cleveland, Ohio. He also completed postdoctoral research training at the University of California, Irvine, Harvard Medical School’s Department of Cardiology and has published multiple national and international papers.
