John O. Schorge, MD, FACOG, FACS, was born and raised in mid-Michigan. He enrolled in the Honors Program at the University of Michigan where he became a life-long Wolverines fan and met his future wife. He had a brief immersion in Southern culture during medical school at Vanderbilt University. Dr. Schorge then served as an OB/GYN resident at the integrated Brigham & Women's Hospital-Massachusetts General Hospital program before completing a gynecologic oncology fellowship at 'the Brigham'. He was on the faculty at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School-Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas for eight years before returning to Boston as Chief of Gynecologic Oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Dr. Schorge has been married for 20+ years and has three children. He is a member of Red Sox Nation and the entire family proudly wears Tom Brady jerseys [U-Michigan alumnus]. Dr. Schorge has been the Director of the Gynecologic Oncology Program at WDH since 2008. He has more than 12 years of clinical experience. Dr. Schorge was named one of the 2013 “Boston Super Doctors”, a recognition of approximately 5% of the physicians in the Boston Metro area. Dr. Schorge is a board examiner in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology. He is the author of over 100 publications, the lead editor of Williams’ Gynecology, and the 2013 President of the New England Association of Gynecologic Oncologists. His clinical interests include minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic assisted techniques.
Kathleen Quinn, RN, BSN, OCN – GYN Oncology Nurse Navigator, is a lifelong resident of Dover, NH. She attended local Dover schools and is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, School of Nursing. Ms. Quinn has worked at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital for over 20 years.
Ms. Quinn developed a strong medical-surgical background before finally focusing her interests in Oncology. She has an extensive background in all phases of Oncology nursing and is Oncology Nurse Certified. She has been working with Dr. Schorge since the start of the Gynecologic Oncology program in 2008.
Ms. Quinn has been married for 15+ years and has 2 children. She enjoys outdoor activities, is an avid Boston sports fan and is very active in the local community. She was honored in 2013 by Massachusetts General Hospital for her commitment to her patients and the GYN Oncology program at WDH, by being named one of their “one hundred” for 2013.
