The Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Auxiliary, founded in 1952, is a group of over 200 dedicated individuals who work together to develop and contribute resources in support of programs and services at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital.
Over the years, Auxilians have contributed well over a million dollars to purchase sophisticated medical equipment and support hospital construction projects. Members manage hospital services such as the Gift Shop, Gift Cart and Books for Babies program. The Auxiliary also pays for cable service to each of the patient rooms at an annual cost of $14,500. Special fund-raising events include jewelry sales, craft fairs, annual card party and book sales. The Auxiliary also provides a Scholarship Program to seven area high schools for students pursuing a career in healthcare.
New members are always welcome and membership in the Auxiliary is available to individuals and civic groups for a $10 annual fee. A life membership may be purchased for $100. For more information, please call the Community Relations office at (603) 740-2818.
