The Seacoast Cancer Center:
Doing More for Cancer Patients.
In April of 1999, Keith Ball received some very disturbing news. He was referred to The Seacoast Cancer Center at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital where he met with
Dr. Roger Evans and Dr. James Becht. Dr. Evans spoke about
his first meeting with Keith.
“ I took Keith through all of the options that were available for
curative therapy. After thoughtful consideration, Keith came in
for brachytherapy in which
radioactive ‘seeds’ of iodine were implanted to cure his prostate cancer. This was done as an
outpatient and he went home
the same day.”
Keith could have gone to Boston
to have the procedure done, but he elected to have it take place at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital.
Dr. Evans explains, “Wentworth-Douglass Hospital is specialized
in cancer care. We have surgeons, radiation therapists and medical
oncologists who can give the same treatment level for many cancers that can be given in Boston.”
Keith Ball would certainly agree.
“ The treatment that I received by both the medical and professional staff here was great. I was made
to feel very comfortable. I was
dealt with like a human being.
The outcome was great. My cancer was completely cured. I am now cancer free. ”
